Do early episodes of depression and anxiety make homelessness more likely?

This paper studies the relationship between early mental health episodes and homelessness, focusing on depression anxiety amongst disadvantaged Australians. Using data from Australian Journeys Home survey, we investigate whether onset of conditions make a first transition into homelessness more likely. Similarly, analyze experiences increase likelihood or anxiety. We perform our analysis separately for men women since there are gender differences in rates both diagnosis homelessness. After accounting effects joint observed unobserved determinants, find that person's episode makes to likely women. In contrast, disorders have no effect experiencing addition, people's experience has developing depression, but does only.
